BananaZ is the Hostel for those who think outside the peel.

Selarón's Stairs

Urban Intervention formed with thousands of tiles submitted by travelers around the world.

Banana Z Hostel was made for the traveler who wants to experience the B-side (or rather the Z-side) of Rio de Janeiro, entitled to everything that the Marvelous City has to offer in terms of the unexpected, surprising and distinctive.

Among the traditional bohemian Lapa and Santa Teresa's artistic plurality, the Hostel is the starting point for travelers who want to experience it all outside the conventional touristic options at Rio.

Come experience a different Marvelous City, perfect for head-to-toe travellers.

According to Cecilia Meireles, tourists want to "walk throught the surface of things, looking at what one suggests, buying whatever he pleases."

Now the traveler wants to live in every thing, go deep into the origin of it all, crazily in love with every aspect of the way.

Meet the house, the comfort and the parties...

What do you know about Rio de Janeiro?

Lapa has public transportation for all Rio and proximity to the subway station Cinelândia.

If it could be summed up in one word it would be blend.

Sambist, trickster, neo-hippie, playboy, rocker, GLS... Finally, from the old-fashioned to the crazy one, there are spaces for everyone.

And it is precisely this mix of democratic tribes that sets the tone for this traditional bohemian neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.

Santa Teresa

In Santa you can find several dining options: from typical Brazilian foods to alternative cooking.

Santa Teresa

Right there, just above Lapa and Rio's commercial center, between narrow and rustic streets, there's the most charming spot in Rio.

There is street art, music, fine dining, cinema and bookstores. And the raw material of Rio: interesting and partying people.

Rio de Janeiro city can be divided into four areas or zones.

Mapa do Rio de Janeiro

Noth Zone

3. Noth Zone

West Zone

4. West Zone
